What we build
Custom Balloon Arches for Los Angeles Parties and Events
An arch gives the eye somewhere to land. Put one over a door, a table or a stage and that spot becomes the backdrop for every photo of the day.
Think of a balloon arch as a frame made of balloons. It curves over whatever matters most at your event (the entrance, the cake, the couple, the graduate, the DJ) and it holds its own in a big room, on a phone screen and in video. For the money, it changes a space more than linens or florals can.
We never start from a template. You share the date, the room, the colors and the vision, and we size the arch to the wall or doorway you really have, then choose the balloon mix that gets the shape right: little 5-inch fillers, 11-inch standards, 18- and 24-inch statement balloons, plus chrome, pearl or foil accents if the palette calls for them. On the day we deliver, build it in place and come back for it afterward.
Arches get booked most for birthdays, baby showers, gender reveals, bridal showers, weddings, graduations and quinceañeras, along with brand launches, store openings and office parties. Anywhere people gather around a door, a table or a photo spot, an arch earns its place.
Arch styles
Balloon Arch Styles We Build
Shape comes first, then color. These are the arch styles on our menu and the jobs each one does well.
Organic balloon arches
Organic arches skip the repeating pattern. Balloons of several sizes are grouped in loose, uneven clusters, so the line looks lush and a bit untamed, which is the look most people screenshot on Instagram. They take greenery and flowers easily and they suit showers, weddings and milestone birthdays. Because they pack in more balloons per foot than a classic arch, they price a little higher.
Classic and spiral balloon arches
Classic arches stack identical four-balloon clusters tightly along the frame. Rotate the colors from cluster to cluster and the arch twists into a spiral of two, three or four shades. It's a tidy, structured look that shows off school colors, team colors and brand palettes, so it still turns up at graduations, sports banquets and company events.
Round, circle and hoop arches
Circle arches (you'll also hear ring, hoop or round arch) run balloons around some or all of a round frame. A full ring frames a person standing inside it; a crescent of balloons on one side keeps the middle open for a name or a sign. They're a favorite for photo spots, proposals and sweet 16s.
Square and backdrop arches
A square balloon arch climbs a rectangular frame, usually wrapped around a backdrop panel, a shimmer wall or a flower wall. You get a defined stage behind the cake table and clean edges in every picture. When the arch and the backdrop should be designed as one piece, start with our balloon backdrops.
Half and asymmetrical arches
A half arch (some decorators call it a swoop or demi arch) runs up one side of a backdrop, doorway or table and stops partway across. It reads modern and designed, uses fewer balloons than a full arch, and is one of the easiest ways to get a big look on a smaller budget.
Double arches
Two arches layered together, either front to back or one nested inside the other, add depth that a single line can't. They're worth it in large rooms such as hotel ballrooms, warehouse venues and stage entrances, where one arch would look thin from the back of the room.
Mini and tabletop arches
Tabletop arches run about 4 to 6 feet across and frame a cake, dessert spread, gift table or sweetheart table. In apartments, restaurant private rooms and small studios where floor space is limited, a small balloon arch on the table gives you the photo moment without blocking anyone's path.
Entrance and doorway arches
An entrance arch points guests to the party before they reach the door. We build them over front doors, garage doors, gates, porch steps, venue entries and shopfronts. Outdoor arches get weighted bases and extra ties, because a breezy afternoon near the beach or a gusty Santa Ana day can push on an arch like a sail. Add balloon columns on both sides for a full entry.
Large and giant balloon arches
Large arches start around 16 feet and cover double doors, stages and driveways. For grand openings, school events and street-facing activations, giant arches can reach 25 to 40 feet using 24- and 36-inch balloons. At that scale the arch is planned as a custom balloon installation, with the site measured first.
Balloon arches with flowers and greenery
Silk or fresh florals, eucalyptus, pampas and trailing greenery can be tucked between the balloon clusters for a softer, garden-style arch. It's the version most often booked for bridal showers, baptisms, garden parties and Mother's Day brunches.

Sizing
Balloon Arch Sizes: How Big Should Your Arch Be?
Get out the tape measure before you pick a size. An undersized arch disappears in photos, and an oversized one crowds the door it's meant to frame.
| Arch size | Good fit for | Balloons (approx.) |
|---|---|---|
| 4–6 ft tabletop or mini | Cake, dessert and gift tables | 60–110 in organic style |
| 6.5–7 ft frame arch | A single door, a photo corner, a small backdrop | 90–130 in organic style |
| 10–12 ft | Front doors, porch steps, an 8 ft backdrop | 150–220 organic or 60–75 classic |
| 16–20 ft | Double doors, stages, a 10 ft backdrop | 240–360 organic or 100–130 classic |
| 25 ft and larger | Grand openings, gyms, outdoor entries | Planned for the site |
Arch length is measured along the curve, not straight across the floor. A 16–20 ft arch usually stands about 8–9 ft tall and 8–10 ft wide. Exact counts change with balloon sizes and how full the design is.
How many balloons does a balloon arch take? Plan on about 5–6 balloons per foot for a classic arch of 11-inch balloons, and about 12–18 per foot for an organic arch, since it layers 5-, 11- and 18-inch sizes. That puts a 6 ft organic arch at roughly 70–110 balloons and a 20 ft organic arch at roughly 240–360. A bag of 50 balloons covers a small tabletop or half arch, not a full doorway.
Pricing
How Much Does a Balloon Arch Cost in Los Angeles?
Most full-size arches we build land between $265 and $650. Here's where each size starts and what pushes a quote up or down.
| Arch | Starting at |
|---|---|
| Tabletop or mini arch (4–6 ft) | $225 |
| Frame arch with garland (6.5–7 ft) | $265 |
| Doorway arch (10–12 ft) | $350 |
| Themed welcome arch with foil accents | $395 |
| Full balloon arch (16–20 ft) | $495 |
| Double, giant and 25 ft+ arches | Custom quote |
Starting prices include delivery, setup and pickup in our core Los Angeles service area. Drives of 35+ miles add a travel fee starting at $65.
What moves the price of a balloon arch:
- Length and density. Every extra foot and every fuller cluster adds balloons and build time.
- Style. An organic arch uses more balloons per foot than a classic or spiral arch.
- Balloon types. Chrome, pearl, double-stuffed (one balloon inside another for a custom shade) and 18–36 inch balloons cost more than standard latex.
- Extras. Florals, greenery, foil shapes, vinyl names, marquee letters and backdrop panels.
- How it stands. A frame or stand is included in most quotes; rigging an arch off venue structure takes more labor.
- The drive and the clock. Greater Los Angeles is spread out. A Woodland Hills-to-Torrance run on a Saturday, a 6 AM install or a narrow hotel dock window all show up in the quote.
- Parking and access. Valet-only venues, paid lots, freight-elevator bookings and long stair carries in the hills add time.
- Teardown. Pickup after the party is included, or skip it and keep the balloons.
Need a firm number? Send the date, venue, size and colors and we'll come back with a written quote. Each of our other services lists its own starting prices too: garlands, columns and backdrops.

Your options
Balloon Arch Rental, Full Installation or a DIY Kit?
You can get an arch into your party a few different ways. This is how they stack up.
| Option | What's included | Makes sense when |
|---|---|---|
| Full installation | Design, delivery, on-site build and pickup | The arch is the centerpiece and you'd rather not spend party morning on a ladder |
| Balloon arch rental | A finished frame arch dropped off, then collected | Smaller arches, photo corners, simple setups |
| Grab-and-go garland | A built garland you collect and hang | Short pieces for a table or wall, tighter budgets |
| DIY balloon arch kit | Balloons, a decorating strip and glue dots | A small arch, spare time and a patient helper |
How do you make a balloon arch look professional? Mix balloon sizes, inflate them evenly, build tight clusters, hide the strip and frame, and finish with small balloons tucked into the gaps. That's realistic for a small kit arch with a pump and an afternoon. A full organic doorway arch is a different job: a pro needs one to three hours on-site, and first-timers often spend four to eight, plus a second store run. Balloons inflated too early or with the wrong pump also pop, sag and turn cloudy. If the arch anchors the whole party, having it built is usually the better call.
LA weather
Outdoor Balloon Arches in Los Angeles Sun, Heat and Wind
Outdoor arches work here most of the year. The trick is knowing which part of town you're in and which month it is.
Los Angeles weather changes a lot over a short drive. On a summer afternoon the coast can sit in the 70s under the marine layer while Woodland Hills or Northridge tops 100 degrees. Sun and heat are what wear latex down: the air inside expands until balloons burst, UV turns the surface matte and cloudy within hours, and dark shades like black and navy heat up fastest. Wind is the other factor. Beach cities get a steady afternoon sea breeze, and from roughly October through March, dry, gusty Santa Ana winds can roll through the valleys and canyons.
- Shade first. A covered patio, pergola, porch, tent or the shaded side of the house buys an outdoor arch hours.
- Late builds in the Valley. For summer afternoon parties inland, we schedule the build as close to start time as we can.
- Air-filled, on a frame. Outdoor arches are air-filled. Helium doesn't hold up long in heat and sun.
- Lighter colors in full sun. Whites, pastels, sand tones and metallics outlast black and deep navy.
- Weights and tie-offs. Outdoor arches get weighted bases and are tied to a fence, post or railing where there is one, so a gust doesn't walk them across the lawn.
- Watch the wind forecast. If a red-flag or high-wind warning is posted for your area on party day, we'll talk about moving the arch inside or under cover.
Longevity
How Long Does a Balloon Arch Last?
Air-filled and indoors, an arch keeps its shape for days. Outside in July sun, count on the length of the party.
| Setup | How long it usually looks good |
|---|---|
| Air-filled, indoors, climate-controlled | Several days, often a week or longer |
| Air-filled, outdoors in shade, mild weather | A full day, often into the next |
| Air-filled, outdoors in full summer sun inland | A few hours before fading and popping |
| Helium arch or bouquets | Hours, unless treated to float longer |
Will a balloon arch last 4 days? Indoors and air-filled, yes, which is why a night-before setup works for morning events and multi-day events keep the arch inside. Can a balloon arch go up the night before? Indoors, no problem. For an outdoor summer party, especially in the Valley, build it the same day.
How it works
How to Book a Balloon Arch in Los Angeles

- 1
Share the details
Your date, the venue or zip code, the space or arch size, your colors and any inspiration pictures. A minute is plenty.
- 2
Approve a design and price
We send back a design idea and a written quote. Adjust it as many times as you need.
- 3
We build on-site
We arrive inside your setup window, build the arch, then check that it's steady and camera-ready.
- 4
Party, then pickup
Enjoy the event. When teardown is part of the quote, we return for the frame and balloons.
How far ahead should you book a balloon arch? Two to four weeks covers most parties. Go earlier for May and June graduation weekends, the weeks before Lunar New Year, Halloween and December weekends, and wedding-season Saturdays, which are the first dates to go. Short-notice requests are still worth sending.

Questions
Balloon Arches in Los Angeles: FAQ
What does it cost for a balloon arch?
Our arches start at $225 for a tabletop arch, $265 for a 6.5–7 ft frame arch and $495 for a full 16–20 ft arch, with delivery, setup and pickup included in our core Los Angeles service area. Length, style, balloon count, extras and drive distance set the final number.
How long do balloon arches last?
Air-filled and indoors, an arch holds up for several days and often a week or more. Outside in shade it lasts about a day. In full summer sun in the Valley, plan on a few hours. Helium arches last hours unless treated.
How many balloons do you need for a balloon arch?
About 12–18 balloons per foot for an organic arch and 5–6 per foot for a classic one. That works out to roughly 70–110 balloons for a 6 ft organic arch and 240–360 for a 20 ft organic arch.
What's the difference between a balloon arch and a balloon garland?
A garland is the bendable strand of balloon clusters. An arch is a garland (or classic clusters) mounted on a frame or anchored at both ends so it curves over something on its own. Garlands can also lie along a mantel, wall or table, so every organic arch is a garland, but not every garland is an arch.
Do balloon arches use helium?
Usually not. Arches are air-filled and held up by a frame, so they last longer and cost less. Helium is for floating arches and bouquets, which last hours to a day, and any helium foil balloons we use are always weighted.
Can you put a balloon arch outside in Los Angeles?
Yes. Outdoor arches are air-filled, weighted and placed in shade whenever possible. Inland summer heat fades and pops latex within hours, and beach breezes and Santa Ana gusts call for extra anchoring, so outdoor arches go up close to party time.
How far in advance should I book a balloon arch?
Two to four weeks is comfortable. Book earlier for graduation weekends in May and June, Lunar New Year, Halloween, December and wedding-season Saturdays. Last-minute requests are worth asking about too.
Can you set up a balloon arch the night before?
Indoors, yes. An air-filled arch built the evening before looks the same the next morning. Outdoor arches should go up the day of the event.
Do you deliver and set up the arch?
Yes. Full-service arches are delivered, built on-site and picked up after the event. If you'd rather set up yourself, ready-made frame arches and grab-and-go garlands are available too.
How much is a balloon arch display with a backdrop?
An arch-and-backdrop combo usually runs $525–$900 with us, depending on the backdrop surface, the garland length and add-ons like marquee numbers. See our balloon backdrops page for the full breakdown.
What if a guest has a latex allergy?
Ask for a latex-free build. Arches, walls and backdrops can be made from foil balloons instead, and many hospitals, schools and offices only allow foil.
Should I tip a balloon arch decorator?
It's up to you. Plenty of hosts tip the crew 10–15% for a large or very early install, and a review is always appreciated.
